Tumblr closed down for carrying pornography
Indonesia has shutdown Tumblr, the banned came up after it was discovered that that site contains pornographic content which is against the country laws.
For those of us who don't know Tumblr is blogging site owned by US internet giant,Yahoo. Earlier this month, about 500 sites have been shutdown owing to adult content they contain. Netflix and Vimeo were among the site closed down by the Indonesia internet service provider. Recently all social networking sites were ordered to remove any emoticon depicting same-sex couples. In past, Indonesia has asked social media organizaton to put in a place a special filter for adult content .
