Living in Bondage ( Breaking free) is a sequel to the 1992 nollywood movie living in bondage which was directed by Chris Obi Rapu starred Kenneth Okonkwo (as Andy Okeke)  as the leading actor. 

The storyline links up well with the prequel but focuses on Andy Okeke's son Nnamdi (Swanky JKA) on his reckless quest to make money at all cost .

The new sequel which premiered Nov 8, 2019 features some of the original actors with Ramsey Nouah making his directorial debut. Other notable casts are : Nancy Isime, Munachi , Bob Manuel, Jidekene Achufusi , Shawn Faqua.

Breaking free got streamed on Netflix Nigeria on May 22nd and earned the No.1 spot as the most nollywood movie watched online within  24 hours.

French walk-race athlete, Yohann Dinz had an embarrassing moment during the 50km race at Rio Olympic 2016.

While the event was going on at a temperature of about 27 degree, Diniz ,a former record holder suffered from stomach upset. 

It was a bad day for the French athlete as he was seen lying on ground with poo on his body. He must have been feeling nausea from the stomach disorder which caused him to defecate. 

                                                                                    

Diniz was immediately attended to and finished 11th place at the end of the 50km walk race.

Federal government alerts Nigerians of fake anti-malaria drug in circulation

Nigerian Government warns public of fake drug

The Federal Government has alerted Nigerians of two confirmed falsified versions of Quinine Sulphate in circulation. Quinine sulphate is used in the treatment of Malaria. A statement signed by the Director, Media and Public Relations of the Ministry of Health, Boade Akinola, states that the two falsified drugs contain zero active pharmaceutical ingredients. The statement added that the drugs are majorly being circulated in West and Central Africa, particularly in Cameroon and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Akinola said one of the fake products was named Quinine Sulfate 300 mg with 1000 Tablets per container, Batch Number 10H05, expiry date 09/2018 and its date of manufacture is 09/2014. She stated that the drug manufactured by Novadina Pharmaceutical Limited, London, United Kingdom was first was discovered in Cameroon.

The other version of the fake drug was Quinine Sulphate 300mg with 100 Tablets per container; batch F4387, expiry date 11/18 and its date of manufacture is 12/14. She explained that the product was manufactured in India by CAD Pharm, and it was discovered in Bunia, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Akinola advised Nigerians to be vigilant and report to the nearest National Agency for Food and Drug Administration office anywhere the drugs were spotted including hospitals and pharmaceutical shops.

The ministry advised Nigerians to also report if they come ac the following GSM no +234-8037881120, +234-8055056727 and +234-8035902679. “If you are in possession of these products, please do not use them.

“If you have taken this falsified product or if you suffer an adverse effect following its uptake, please seek immediate advice from a qualified healthcare professional and report the incident to NAFDAC.’’

The footage of the incident surfaced online and it has been shared and viewed many times.

According to reports, they were already arguing before she attacked him. When he tried to escape, the woman followed, leaned towards him, appearing to stab a knife into his torso. The man then yelled out in pain and stumbled away as he again tried to put distance between himself and his wife.

Japanese Billionaire Promise Nigeria U23 $390k

Japanese plastic surgeon and billionaire Katsuya Takasu is a big fan of Nigerian players, he had earlier announced his desire to give a bonus of $30,000 to each Nigerian player should they win gold at the Rio 2016 men’s Olympic football tournament in Brazil.

The billionaire also promised the team $20,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze after hearing about their financial woes.

Mr Takasu is now on his way to Rio to watch Nigeria battle Honduras for the bronze medal, and give his donations to coach Siasia and Mikel Obi.

New manager of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr is set for the 2017 African cup of Nations qualifier match against Tanzania in Uyo on 3rd of September 2016.
 
The German tactician has called up 23 players and surprisingly they include youngster Victor Osimhen and Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa. 

while other bigger names like Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo and John Mikel Obi make the cut.
