INEC has announced the result for the presidential election from 18 states in Nigeria. The event took place on Monday at the country's capital Abuja and the speculations were much focused on the two parties running as the front-liners APC All Progressives Congress and PDP peoples democratic party
APC Presidential candidate, former head of state, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari taking the lead by 8,520,436 votes in the states and the FCT while his counterpart PDP Presidential candidate President Goodluck Jonathan had 6,488,210 votes.
The Daura, Katsina State-born former Head of State won in the following 10 of the states :Kaduna, Kwara, Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Kogi and Ogun.
while president jonahthan captured the following 8 states Abia, Anambra, Nasarawa, Enugu, Ekiti, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Plateau and FCT.

The INEC chairman ,prof JEGA after declaring the above result further stated that the announcement of the collation of the remaining result will start by 10:00am on tuesday(this morning)
