Former FIFA President, Joao Havelenge is dead. He was 100 years old.
Havelenge was a businessman and athlete in waterpolo. His tenure was the second longest in FIFA history.
He was the president between 1974 to 1998 before Sepp Blatter succeeded him.
The 7th FIFA passed away in Samaritano Hospital in Rio de Janeri , Brazil after been hospitalized due to respiratory problems.
On leaving the office of President, he was given an honour but Havelenge resigned as the honourary President due to corruption allegations levied against him and others in April 2013.
He also served as a member of the International Olympic Committee between 1963 and 2011.
